I love capturing the world through the lens of my camera or with the stroke of my (metaphorical) pen. Over the past decade, I’ve been helping hotels & hideaways and travel & lifestyle brands to tell their stories through both images and words — and I also write and shoot for publications including Condé Nast Traveller, Country Life and Blumenhaus.
I’m a natural storyteller, born from a lifetime of devouring novels and obsessing over images. Through both my writing and photography work, I highlight a slower pace of travel, focusing on the lingering moments that make holidays memorable. Perhaps it’s that hidden cove with the crystal clear water that you can only access via a rickety ladder, or the local’s favourite restaurant where everyone greeted you by your name by the end of your trip. Maybe it’s the exquisite design details of a charming hotel bedroom, picking your own salad from the kitchen gardens of an Italian agriturismo, or stumbling upon a craftsperson selling their unique wares. I'm always searching for and capturing those slow moments that become memories: early morning rhythms, the softest sheets, the way the light hits the wall at golden hour.
I’ve been scribbling words since I was a child, blogging since 2008, and writing professionally since I secured my first job working on website content in 2010. I’ve been freelance for over a decade now, writing articles for travel websites such as Small Luxury Hotels, Mr & Mrs Smith and Hotel Weekend, ghost-writing a coffee table book, being published by the likes of Condé Nast Traveller, Country Life and Blumenhaus, alongside writing blog posts on behalf of brands including Rebecca Udall and Frances Loom. I recently launched a Substack newsletter entitled Postcards from Wherever where I share everything from my hotel recommendations and personal travel anecdotes to interviews with the writers, editors and photographers who inspire me.
My foray into photography happened by happy accident. I’ve always loved taking photographs, and clearly remember being gifted my first point-and-shoot camera aged eleven. I picked up my first DSRL in 2013 and quickly became hooked, teaching myself via Youtube videos and experimentation. My camera hasn’t left my side since. I’ve now been shooting professionally for three years, predominantly for design-led luxury hotels and hideaways such as Glebe House, Prussia Cove and Pagostas, but also for travel brands including Road Surfer, Inntravel and Small Luxury Hotels. Alongside my travel work, I also capture lifestyle product imagery, gardens and nature, and the occasional creative portrait, and have been published in the likes of Blumenhaus, Red magazine and Country Life.
